Follow these steps to complete your quest.
Begin by doing some research
- Start by working individually to learn as much as you can about Alberta Watersheds,
River Basins and Water Management in Alberta.
- Have a stakeholder conference with your group to discuss your research findings and
decide who will represent each of the five stakeholder groups shown on the left.
Note: If your group has more than 5 people, two can work together.
- Determine how your stakeholder's actions affect water quality within the watershed. Consider plants,
animals, micro-organisms and humans.
Record your ideas
- Record how your stakeholder's actions coincide or conflict with other stakeholders in your sector.
- Create a graphic organizer showing how your stakeholder's actions affect the watershed
(include both positive and negative actions).
- Develop realistic ways to improve the quality of the water within the watershed.
- Record your ideas.
- Meet with your sector team to share your findings and learn what others have discovered.
- Discuss the impact of each stakeholder's activities within the watershed.
- As a group, determine what you, as a stakeholder, and your sector can do to ensure that L'Eau Falls
residents have enough water for their needs, and allow each stakeholder to continue their activities.
- Design a brochure, pamphlet, mural or poster that shows how all the stakeholders in your sector can
work together to improve the water quality of your watershed.
- With your group, present your findings and possible solutions to the Environment Commission
(your class). Your presentation must be accurate and comprehensive so the Commission can make an informed
assessment of the Water Quality issues within your Watershed. This may be completed as a PowerPoint, oral,
video, or diorama presentation.
